La majorité de notre temps pendant la deuxième partie de notre séjour au Guatemala a été consacrée à apprendre l’espagnol dans une école au bord du lac Atitlàn : 4 heures de cours particuliers par jour dans une atmosphère détendue et familiale, le tout dans un environnement exceptionnel, entouré de volcans.

The majority of our time in Guat was dedicated to our continued education of Spanish language.  We hung out at Lago Atitlàn studying 4 hours per day with a dedicated teacher in an informal ‘exchange’ style of study.  The school was nicely familial in spirit and stunningly situated on the lake surrounded by 3 volcanos.

Nous avons ensuite passé quelques jours dans la jolie ville de Antigua avant de profiter pendant quelques jours de l’hospitalité de la famille Mojica à la capitale qui nous ont permis de remettre Bip Bip sur roues… (cf le post précédent)

We spend a few days in the beautiful and historic Antigua before moving to Guatemala City to suffer once aain the red-hot poker of maintenance repairs.  Thanks to the overwhelming  hospitality of the family Mojica we were able to get Bip Bip back on four wheels again.

Enfin, avant de traverser la frontière du Salvador, nous avons passé une nuit sur la plage de sable noire de Monterrico où il a fallu  pour l’atteindre mettre Bip Bip sur une barque… L’angoisse !

Ah before hitting El Salvador (special  thanks to  JM  and  the ES Landrover Club for spearheadin the special permission !!!) we took off for a bit off beach time at Monterico – but not before having to put Bip Bip on a kayak for the cruise through the mangroves.  If we had known first…..
